Masseria Mosca offers accommodations with a private kitchen, private parking, swimming pool and 1 hectare of lush Mediterranean vegetation, including orchards of oranges, lemons, figs and medlars, as well as wild rocket, blackberries and aromatic plants.
The Story
Masseria Mosca is a fortified farmhouse from the 17th Century. It served as dwelling for families of farmers in feudal times. It was fortified because for hundreds of years the coast of Salento had been raided by Ottomans, Moors, Sarcens and Venetians. It rose from its rubbles in 1991 thanks to the ideas of designer Flavio Napoleone and architect Franco Carriero. In 2023 Flavio’s son, Francesco Napoleone, and his friends Toby, Daniel and Fabian, decided to keep its untouched beauty but give it new life. Today the Masseria is managed on site by Frank’s parents – his mum Loredana and her long time husband Dino.
All the rooms offer a private bathroom, private patio and fully-furnished kitchen as well as air conditioning and WiFi connection. Some of the rooms come with a fully functioning fireplace too.

Masseria Mosca is strategically placed in “South-Salento” only 3km from Gallipoli and its bustling night life, yet far enough to enjoy total peace and quiet. 2km away is the motorway which connects Lecce to Santa Maria di Leuca, and it’s just a 15 minute walk to the village of Chiesanuova where one can find groceries and supplies.
